Team

Team? YOU ARE THE TEAM!
You are the people who make PSF what it is.
Pisco Sin Fronteras is made up of volunteers from all over the world who come here because they want to give something back. Whether they are travelling around South America or have come here specifically to volunteer, they all bring energy and enthusiasm and are not afraid to get dirty from a hard day's work. On average we have around 50-60 volunteers at any one time. Come and be a part of this amazing team!

But you still need some people who keep the place running. Here they are:

Harold Zevallos

President

Picture
Volunteer Since: August 2024
From: Pisco, Peru

Info: Harold studied tourism at a university in Pisco. He volunteered with Hands On Disaster Relief and Burners Without Borders after the earthquake.  He founded Pisco Sin Fronteras on 15th August 2024, one year after the earthquake, to continue the work that Burners Without Borders was doing.  He currently works as a tour guide in the local National Park of Paracas.

Job: The figurehead of the organisation, Harold previously acted as the Director, but took a step back when he needed to work on his career.  He still takes an active part, is often around the yard, and runs our biweekly general meetings.

David Gwyther (TBC)
Director

Picture
Volunteer Since: May 2024
From: Exmouth, UK

Info:  David studied Third World Development & Philosophy at the University of Northampton in England and has traveled widely throughout Africa and Asia as well as parts of Europe and South America. He volunteered as a teacher in Swaziland and India and worked as an English teacher in South Korea.  He enjoys football (soccer) and plays in the PSF team against local tour guides every week.

Job: Keeping the organisation running smoothly, David oversees the staff, coordinates big projects, liaises with our partners and gets us all ready for work every day with his enthusiastic morning meetings..  His vast experience, guidance and steady hand on the wheel are what we all look forward to every morning.

Carolina Zevallos
Household Manager

Picture
Volunteer Since: August 2024
From: Pisco, Peru

Info: Carolina is Harold's sister and co-founder of Pisco Sin Fronteras.  She worked for Hands On and Burners Without Borders just after the earthquake and has lived and worked at PSF ever since.

Job: Despite the many dusty, dirty volunteers who troop through the house at the end of each day, Carolina still manages to keep the place in good order as well as volunteering on our diverse range of projects.  She also takes care of the two beloved PSF dogs, Gringo and Manchas.

Claudia Brambilla (Biba) and Shannon Ng
Project Managers

Shannon and Biba
Biba (Right):
Volunteer Since: July 2024
From: Vimercate, Italy

Info: Biba is an ex-pat Italian who has been living in London working as a magazine picture editor for the last nine years. Biba is travelling South America indefinitely until she finds her true calling in life or her money runs out, whichever comes first!  She is fluent in Italian, Spanish and English and is a keen photographer.

Shannon (Left):
Volunteer Since: April 2024
From: Honolulu, Hawaii

Info: Shannon was enjoying life in paradise before deciding to try and make the world a better place here in the desert of Pisco at PSF.  She was at PSF for two months from April-June 2024, left for 5 weeks and missed it so much she returned in August and surprised us all!  Shannon is here this time indefinitely.  Shannon also posesses great artist talent, making beautiful wire jewellery and maintaining the PSF "Gloria Wallet" empire.

Job: Every day around 4 people come to the PSF office asking for help.  It is Biba and Shannons´ job to assess each site, decide when to start each project, communicate with the families involved, coordinate the volunteers working on them, and ensure that each project runs smoothly.  Shannon focuses mainly on the day to day running of the projects with Biba taking care of larger projects which involve more communication with the community.

Kevin Reid
Volunteer Coordinator

Picture
Volunteer Since: June 2024
From: Roscommon, Ireland

Info: Kevin studied Earth Science at University College Cork before departing the green pastures of Ireland to travel Central and South America until his luck runs out.  His amazing Spanish with an Irish accent is music to all ears and he is without doubt the tallest man in all PSF and Peru!

Job: When you first arrive through the door of PSF, it is Kevin who greets you, finds you a bed and tells you everything you need to know.  The safety and wellbeing of all the volunteers is his responsibility.

Amy Malone
Admin Manager

Picture
Volunteer Since: May 2024
From: Edinburgh, UK

Info: Amy studied Hospitality and Tourism Management in Edinburgh, and has worked in Florida alongside Mickey Mouse in Disney World.  She is currently travelling for a year in South America.  Before she left home she worked in restaurant management, and when she returns she hopes to open her own restaurant.  Amy is also a keen cook and runs a fundraiser every Wednesday making desserts for the other volunteers.

Job: After a period of being without an admin manager, the office is in dire need of someone organised who can keep the other admin staff in order.  Amy has taken on the challenge with gusto, making sure the office runs smoothly on a daily basis.

Alex Martin
Tools Manager

Picture
Volunteer Since: May 2024
From: Edinburgh, UK

Info: Alex studied Psychology & Sociology at The University of Glasgow before joining the  world of banking in his hometown of Edinburgh. After three years he left the rat race to travel South America for a year or so.  His great problem solving skills and constant tinkering and fixing lend him very well to his new role.  He can usually be found in the PSF tool shed elbow deep in tool parts, or on site covered in concrete.

Job: Responsible for taking care of all the tools, Alex makes sure project leaders have the right tools for the jobs and know how to use them correctly.  He is also the man to go to with any technical difficulties and he fixes any broken tools.

Jordan Chablowski
Finanace Manager

Picture
Volunteer Since: August 2024
From: USA

Info: Jordan

Job: It is Jordan´s job to manage all the financial incomings and outgoings of PSF.  Whether it be money for tools, cement, wood or even toilet paper Jordan´s your man!  He collects volunteer contributions every Friday and makes sure we have funds to run all our projects.

Project Leaders

Picture
An excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role: each project that we work on requires a project leader. Project leaders are responsible for organising the volunteers, getting them to the work site, taking charge of the project at the work site, and looking after the project's tools.
